Oh my goodness! I have so much exciting news to share that I am not even sure where to start!

I guess I will start with Tuesday’s exciting news. As you all know, Rob and I are running the Baltimore Marathon in 22 days! Wow! I can’t believe it is only 22 days away!

Anyway, the Baltimore Running Festival has a Facebook page (who doesn’t) and they have what they call Trivia Tuesdays. Every Tuesday until the marathon they have at least 2 trivia contests a day. This Tuesday I just happened to be on Facebook when they posted the first trivia question of the day. I usually don’t try to answer them because I usually don’t know the answer or don’t have the time to try to look up the information that they are looking for; however, this trivia question was easy because you could just take an educated guess. Here was the trivia question…

Oh, I forgot to mention, Facebook boy (as he is called), is hilarious as well! Since it seemed to be a fairly “easy” question, I decided to give it a shot! So, I guessed 25! I thought it was a decent guess. They always take the first person to get the answer or within the parameters that they set in the question! I figured I had a shot at it, but I NEVER win anything, and I mean NEVER! So I was surprised to see this post a little while later…

I was so excited! As I said before, I NEVER when anything! And wouldn’t you know what came in the mail today…

And the timing couldn’t be better, as we have a 20 mile run in the morning! Guess what we are trying out! And in case you can’t see what flavor they are…they are CHOCOLATE! 🙂

Wait, there is more exciting news! I know what could possibly be more exciting than chocolate energy gel?!

Wednesday morning was our last official day running with Rob’s flight to help them prepare for the 5k, which was this morning. The ones that showed up for it, did a great job! Here are a couple of pictures from Wednesday morning’s run…

Well, I thought we were done, but come to find out some of them want us to continue holding sessions. Here was an email to me from Rob informing me of the interest…

At the flight meeting today they thanked us and then several people asked if we were gonna keep doing the running pt thing. One was the girl I was running with today. She said she isn’t a morning person but it is easier for her to get up and get out there if she knows other people are waiting for her.

I was so excited to hear this news! We are definitely going to continue offering running sessions 2 to 3 days a week, depending on our schedule. Our next run will be next Thursday, I believe.

Wednesday late afternoon was my first day as assistant coach for Girls on the Run (GOTR) with two other awesome coaches! What an incredible experience! We have a great group of girls, and a few who are new to the program as well. Today was basically an introduction and getting to know everyone. I am so happy that I volunteered to do this, as I have already met 6 amazing girls (one wasn’t there today) and 2 amazing coaches! We only ran for 10 minutes today, but it was a good starting point for the girls! I ran with one of the other coaches and we encouraged the girls to just keep moving for the 10 minutes.

Unfortunately, we still need 1 more girl to sign-up, so we have a team of 8, but it is looking promising that we will have at least 8. We need at least 8 to have a team! *fingers-crossed*

Crossing my fingers worked because I received an email this morning saying that we have 8 girls, so our season is definitely a go! So excited! We are going to have a fantastic season!

I had been wanting to share that exciting news all day, but I spent the morning cleaning. Then I went out for a short run, before spending the rest of the day cooking for the weekend and part of next week.

Today’s run was exciting as well! I went out knowing I was only going to run a 5k (3.1 miles) because we have 20 miles tomorrow morning, but I wanted to get some form of exercise in today. Well, it turned out to be my best 5k ever…

It was JUST under 26 minutes…25:59.77, but still under 26 minutes! 🙂 I didn’t set out to run this fast, but everything just felt really good. So, I went with it! I was figuring around 27 minutes, but I will definitely take this! I really need to run an official 5k…maybe in November!

Today I ran by myself, which doesn’t happen very often when we are marathon training, but when it does I always make sure I wear…

my Road ID! It just gives me that extra piece of mind (Rob too) that I have all my information available to medics, if need be. I also carry my cell phone and pepper spray! Those are the 3 things I always carry with me when I run alone!

As you can see, mine is purple, but I really want to get the pink band as well, and maybe the blue!

I spent the rest of the day cooking, so I am ready to sit down and relax for a little bit before heading to bed! Here is a peak at what I made today…

Pumpkin Spice Pancakes! 16 of them for quick and easy breakfasts! 

It is nice to have food made up in advance, especially with a long run tomorrow and a busy week ahead, but it does take some time. All of this took me 4 hours to make and clean up from, but it is so worth it in the end! This will last us a few days! 🙂

I even have oatmeal ready for us to eat before our run in the morning, and coffee ready to brew as soon as we get back!

Now it is time to get something else to eat, hydrate, and watch some TV before heading to bed!

You know you are a runner when you set your alarm for 5:30 am on a SATURDAY! And on that note I will leave you with this tonight…
