Dasha and I had a great walk this morning.
I just love that sweet little face! I can’t believe she is almost 9-1/2 years old, but she will always be a baby to us.
We saw the swans up close this morning, as they were right next to the bridge we walk over every morning.
Sometimes they will hiss at us, but today they were too busy preening to pay too much attention to us.
It was a gorgeous fall day!
Fall is my favorite time of the year! I love the trees when they are bright red, orange, and yellow. This probably comes from the fact that I grew up in Western New York and that part of the state is simply stunning in the fall.
Ok, so I really don’t know how to play, but I think that it is cool they have a life-size chess board and pieces at our apartment complex. I believe it might actually be setup correctly. Definitely the closest I have ever seen it, that’s for sure!
I wasn’t going to cook or bake anything today, but then remembered that we had Baked Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal before our last 20 mile run. I decided to make it again because it is perfect before a good hard run.
I made it the original way the very first time I made it and it was a lot of calories for the little bit that you actually got. I knew I could make it a little healthier and still have it taste great, so that is what I did last time and when I made it today. Yes, I have made this oatmeal 3 times already! I love it! You can find my skinny version of the recipe here.
While it was baking I had a super fancy lunch.
Wait? Peanut butter and jelly, an apple, and string cheese isn’t fancy?! 🙂 Ok, so not a fancy lunch, but it sure did taste good.
Then it was finally time to workout! I use one of the spare bedrooms as my workout room, but it is pretty sad looking.
I didn’t bring my treadmill with me to Turkey, so it is just my lifting stuff and mats. Those mats are great, especially when the floors are very hard and there is not any carpet. They definitely make core work a lot more enjoyable!
Today was a running rest day, so I was able to get in another round of Hard Core Abs. Today was the first day since I started doing the DVD again that I was able to make it through the whole workout without a break. Already starting to get a little bit stronger!
After a great workout, it was time to get around to go to a function to take some pictures. I forgot how much I love taking photos. I even carried my camera with me for 26.2 miles during my first marathon. Here is the proof.
My husband thought I was crazy, but I wanted to remember that day because I wasn’t planning on running anymore marathons. Ha, ha! Almost ready to run marathon #4!
Over the last few years, I was doing some photography for family and friends. It was so much fun, especially the weddings! I was always nervous before the wedding because it is kind of hard to redo a wedding. Luckily, I had some great clients, beautiful weddings, and captured some great moments.
Here is a favorite of mine from one of the weddings.
Come to think of it, it was the first wedding I did! Such a beautiful day!
After the function, it was finally time for dinner. I was so glad it was already made and ready to heat and eat.
I am all about fancy meals today. Spaghetti with turkey meatballs. A few carbs to help with tomorrow’s run.
Ah yes, tomorrow’s run! It is our last really long run before we start to taper for the marathon! We will be up early tomorrow morning, so we can eat and head down to the lake for a nice 20 mile run. At least the weather is supposed to be better for this 20 miler. Sunny with a high of 69 degrees!
